Our team consists of students in the departments of medical engineering and molecular biology and genetics.
Bükem Tanören
Principal Investigator
I am graduated from Department of Physics in Bogazici University. I got my PhD in Physics in 2007 from the same department. I am mainly interested in studying spectroscopic and microscopic techniques and their potentials in diagnosis. I currently study development and improvement of imaging systems in medicine and theranostic nanoparticles as imaging agents.
Bora Güvendiren
Researcher
I am a Medical Engineering student who is currently doing a double major program in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Acıbadem University. My areas of interest include computational chemistry and biology, molecular dynamics simulations, quantum physics, quantum computations, development and optimization of algorithms in MATLAB, Python, C++ and Java. Other than my areas of interest, I am currently involved with two projects, the first one is a project that requires the utilization of machine learning and deep learning algorithms to determine cancer regions within the body, and the second is a project where biological integration of carbon-based quantum dots into biological environments with the ultimate aim of utilizing these quantum dots as imaging and therapeutic agents.
Şevval Yıldız
Researcher
I am an enthusiastic and multitasking sophomore Medical Engineering Student at Acıbadem University. My preferential aim is to become a professional in the fields of Neuroscience, Neuroengineering, and Nano Drug Delivery Systems. Moreover, I sincerely want to develop novel technologies and therapies in neuroscience by combining these disciplines and blending them with advanced technologies. I am currently conducting research on the preparation of peptide conjugated quantum dots for imaging applications, fabrication of Biocompatible Quantum Dots, Neuromodulation Applications by targeting Magneto-Electric Nanoparticles to the Central Nervous System.
Beste Dipçin
Researcher
I am a molecular biology and genetics and healthcare management double major student at Acibadem University. My main goal is to integrate what I am currently learning and working on in the lab with the molecular biology and genetics field in order to develop gene therapies and theranostic nanoparticles for the diagnostics and treatment of autoimmune and rare diseases alongside developing better drug delivery and imaging systems. Currently, I am working on the synthesis, and imaging of theranostic quantum dots, nanoparticle complex production for gene therapy, and biological integration of quantum dots with the goal of contributing to personalized medicine, nanomedicine, targeted drug delivery and imaging studies.
